About the Artist
Ulla grew up in Duesseldorf, Germany, home of Joseph Beuys and many other great painters and performance artists. The vibrant scene of Duesseldorf had a lasting impact on her future development as an artist.
After moving to Brussels in Belgium she studied contemporary art under such notable artists as Jean de Dobbeleer, Ivonne Vatchenko and Chantal Smeets. During that time she established a large portfolio of cubistic paintings which she showed in variety of exhibitions in Belgium.
At the same time she also studied working with clay.
After moving to Colorado she continued to create her cubistic paintings. Her work was seen in art shows and galleries in Colorado.
Working with clay she developed an unique style for beautiful, colorful wall sculptures. Based on her cubistic painting and her wall sculptures, Ulla moved into a more contemporary style in her latest paintings.
